Public InfoEdit

Dr. Samuel Black is a rising star of technology, quickly becoming a household name. He's the darling of more than a few tech magazines and known for his work with Blacktech, as well as for a variety of very well-regarded, bug-free computer software programs...and a number of highly-rated videogames. Not too many people know much about him other than his work, as he's fairly reclusive and doesn't give interviews. It is rumored he is quite young, maybe just a teenager.

Sam has two PhDs, one in Computer Science and one in Electrical Engineering, and thus the title of Dr. Samuel Black. He tends to introduce himself using that title, though he doesn't insist upon its use in general. He is becoming a household name these days--aside from being responsible for a number of fascinating research studies regarding advanced computing and electronics fields, and presenting theories that will take years to be able to be truly tested by the rest of the world, he has created a wide variety of computer software programs and electronic devices which have become popular. This includes his own exceptionally capable and user-friendly operating system, line of extremely reliable high-performance computers, antivirus and security software with extremely good reputations, a variety of programs for office work and design (including animation programs which actually feature learning-AI "actors" which can be directed rather than manually animated), and even a number of video games of various kinds (all of which have a reputation for quality, perfect balance, and diabodical levels of challenge--the kinds of games the "hardcore" crowd adores and raves about for years). All of his work has a reputation for being bug-free, and he himself is regarded as being years ahead of the rest of the world in his knowledge of computers and technology.

He's known to be young, but most believe he's more around his late teens or early twenties, as Sam doesn't do interviews and never lets much personal information out into the public.

Less-Public KnowledgeEdit

Those "in the know" (likely other high-tech wizards or those with an ear to the ground about alien-related news) would know that Sam also has a major specialty in Xenotechnology, and is a good information source about various alien techs...as well as a very good source if one would like someone to figure out how to use or repair a piece of alien tech...or perhaps make more.

Those who work a lot with the police might also have heard that Sam's quite the inventor, and has created several devices in testing (results quite favorable) by police and SWAT units (see Sam's +techs for more information). Some might have also heard that he has begun working as a tech expert and designer for the superhero crowd, and tends to provide good gear with the only real price being "testing data" on the equipment.

Suggested Plot/Scene UsageEdit

Samuel is a powerful cyberpath, and thus has quite a bit of access to information on a wide variety of subjects. He can serve as an "information source" character virtually whenever needed, for nearly any subject, as long as information on that subject would be available in some way on the internet (intentionally or no). He's an extremely skilled hacker, as well, so security generally won't stop him (in fact, Blacktech sells advanced security programs designed by him, so there's a good chance that he made the security systems for a large number of companies, etc.).

Sam's personal skills are in the fields of computers, technology, and xenotechnology. He can serve as an information source or researcher in scenes dealing with these topics even without using his cyberpathic talents.

Finally, Sam is a genius inventor and gadget designer, and has begun serving the hero population in this regard. Samuel can serve as a designer for new techs or tech upgrades, with the only price being "testing data" from the equipment provided (and a scene or two with me for them to get to know each other and Sam to evaluate whether he wants to provide tech to the character, of course). Please be sure to follow the normal tech approval process OOCly, of course.
